Congratulations to the District 7 History Day Contest Winners
For the second year in a row, Jennifer Light has challenged her Honors class to participate in a rigorous competition set up by National History Day. Over half a million students compete in this competition to enter individual and group projects on a topic that interests them and following a theme. Guided by an annual theme, students are encouraged to choose a topic that matches their personal interests. The 2018 theme is Conflict & Compromise in History. Students can create a documentary, exhibit, paper, performance or website as an individual or group. Creation of these projects requires creativity and hard work. Friday, 14 Monte Cassino students, competing with nine projects were outstanding. Of these nine projects, five have been selected to move on to the State level competition. At the State competition, the top two entries in every category will be invited to compete in the National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland, College Park in June 2018. Last year, Arianna Samiee held that honor for Monte Cassino and Oklahoma.
